‘Terra Nova’: Fox postpones Steven Spielberg’s time-travel epic

Scott Collins reports that “Terra Nova” is moving through time but not in a cool sci-fi way…

Fox announced late Friday that it would push back the much-anticipated premiere of Steven Spielberg’s time-travel epic, “Terra Nova.” The series was supposed to get a splashy two-hour preview on May 23 and 24, but now won’t be seen until the fall.

Network sources say that the show’s elaborate special effects are the culprit. “Terra Nova” stars Jason O’Mara as the head of a family in the 22nd century who is transported back to prehistoric times as part of an experiment to save Earth.

“‘Terra Nova’ is one of the most ambitious television series ever produced,” Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said in a statement. “The cutting-edge visual effects used to create the world of ‘Terra Nova,’ which is of massive scope and scale, require more time to be realized … “

    If they have to push it back 4-6 months because of special effects issues, how are they going to do the special effects on a weekly basis?

  4. I see Spielbarg's activated his work again. Well, as for him, Jason O’Mara was a good choice.
