‘Man of Steel’ poster shows Superman in cuffs
Posted in: Movies
It’s been a big day for movie posters. First, the “Star Trek Into Darkness” poster was released, and now we have a glimpse of Kal-El himself, Superman, looking not very superhero-y. In fact, he looks like he’d be more at home on an episode of “Cops.”
The new poster for “Man of Steel,” Zack Snyder’s upcoming reinvention of the Superman franchise, shows Superman (Henry Cavill) in handcuffs, surrounded by soldiers who apparently haven’t learned to lock the hands behind the back. We can only assume that Superman is only playing along with these soldiers, because he could totally bust himself out of those cuffs without a second thought. Unless they’re made of kryptonite.
Either way, “Man of Steel” looks as if it won’t be all positive vibes and derring-do, a la the 1978 movie version of the character. Courtesy of a story co-written by “Dark Knight” guys Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer, this interpretation of the character looks to be a bit darker than previous incarnations.
The film, also starring Amy Adams, Michael Shannon and Kevin Costner, is set to open June 14, 2013.
