‘Justice League: Doom’: Good and evil square off at Paley Center

Feb. 14, 2012 | 3:42 p.m.

The new animated film “Justice League: Doom” arrives Feb. 28 on Blu-ray and DVD, but we’ll be hosting a sold-out screening on Thursday at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills.

The list of cast members who will be appearing on stage is being finalized and we can tell you now that we’ll be joined by voice actors Tim Daly (Superman), Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman), Olivia d’Abo (Star Sapphire), Paul Blackthorne (Metallo) and Phil Morris (Vandal Savage). We can also tell you that there may be a few other surprise appearances.

“Justice League: Doom,” the latest DC Universe animated original movie from Warner Home Video, takes its core plot from Mark Waid’s memorable “Tower of Babel” story arc (which was published back in 2000 in the pages of DC Comics), although there are considerable differences. In both the comics and film, the world’s greatest heroes are all placed in danger when villains get their hands on Batman’s secret files — which index the weaknesses of all his teammates and precise tactical plans for taking them down.

I’ll be moderating the discussion on Thursday. If you’re among the lucky fans to get into the event, be sure to come up and say hello at the event.

I was one of the lucky people to attend the premiere, and I wanted to thank you and DC Animation for hosting the event! I have been a fan of DC Animation since Batman: The Animated Series, and I have everything they have done on DVD and Bluray! It was so great to see Justice League Doom before it goes sale, and it was amazing! I cannot wait to get my copy! Geoff did a great job hosting the panel, and it was great to see the cast and crew talk about the production. Two stars from two of my favorite TV shows were there: Tim Daly from "Wings" (when is there going to be a reunion show?) and Phil Morris from "Seinfeld" (I so wanted to stand up and ask him to do a Jackie Chiles line for us! "Your face is my case!"). Thanks again for giving back to the fans! Much appreciated!
