Funko “Game of Thrones” Pop! vinyl figures, $9.99 each: The Dothraki horse lord may be long gone, but the love that Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen share will gallop on through eternity. Let that special someone know that that he or she is your sun and stars with this pair of adorable figures. (HBO)

Pixel heart morphing mug, $10: He’s the Mario to your Princess Peach, the Link to your Zelda. Show him how you feel with this heart mug. Made of thermographic inks, the heart reacts to heat. So pour him a cup of coffee and watch his heart brim. (Kikkerland)

“Edward Scissorhands,” $10-$25: Tim Burton’s Frankenstein-inspired story is a modern classic. Cuddle up with your valentine and enjoy this dark but poignant fairy tale, sure to put you in the mood for some hand- (or scissor-) holding. (20th Century Fox)

“Castle in the Sky,” $12-$40: Spending Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart and your kiddos? It’s a sweet, heartfelt story for all ages. (Disney)

“The Adventures of Superhero Girl,” $16.99: Cartoonist Faith Erin Hicks’ webcomic has drawn a devoted following, perhaps because of the heroine’s ability to defeat monsters and evil ninjas with her bare hands. Or maybe it’s because she frequently forgets to take off her mask when she’s not fighting crime. Or perhaps it’s because of her problems with money and boys, or her weakness for kittens. Whatever the reason, the relatable stories and eye-candy artwork are sure to charm. The 112-page hardcover is out Feb. 26, but available for preorder now. (Dark Horse)

“Star Trek” Starfleet Academy class ring or red Trillium ring, $19.95 and $19.99: Even if you’re not ready to say “I do,” you can still say “I care” with one of these rings. You don’t have to be a Trillium trader to afford this Trillium-shaped crystal set in a stainless steel band for the Trekkie in your life. And you don’t have to beat the Kobayashi Maru test to get this Starfleet Academy class ring — a replica of the prop worn in J.J. Abrams’ 2009 “Star Trek.” (StarTrek.com)

Tulip USB hub, $24: Nothing’s more classic than flowers on Valentine’s Day, and these particular tulips serve a double purpose — each bright bud is a USB port. The hub is compatible with both Mac and Windows. (FredFlare)

“Star Wars” T-shirts, $25 each: Love knows no language barriers, so tell your scruffy-looking nerf-herder or blaster-toting princess “Te amo” with a T-shirt. Or, if your sweetie is more of a Sith lord, this Vader tee offers “free throat hugs.”(WeLoveFine)

“True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps,” $29.95: This 225-page hardcover volume features 85 bayou country recipes inspired by the tempting cuisine seen in “True Blood” restaurants Fangtasia and Merlotte’s Bar and Grill. Gift it, or better yet, use it to make a mouth-watering meal for your vampire-loving mate. (HBO)

“Fire Emblem: Awakening” for Nintendo 3DS, $39.99: “Fire Emblem” is the rare game that integrates love and war. Yes, there are battles and weapons, but this is a game as much about people management as war strategy. (Nintendo)

“Doctor Who” hooded TARDIS robe, $76.98: After a romantic bubble bath, the Whovian in your life can snuggle up in this TARDIS-inspired robe. It may not be bigger on the inside, but at least it’s warmer. (BBC America Shop)

Great ideas but it's unfortunately too close to the holiday to order most of these without paying rush shipping charges.

  2. noelenecy says:

Good point. Several items are available through Amazon Prime, and some items are available in actual stores, like the comic book. Hopefully we helped spark some ideas. Happy Valentine's Day!

  3. vcs3 says:

Is the knife holder only available in male?
