For Bill Condon, director of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” Comic-Con 2011 was all about the art of the reveal. The director, who made his maiden voyage to the San Diego geek fest to debut footage for the second-to-last “Twilight” movie, which will open in November, had to be very selective with what he showed the screaming fans.

“Once we decided that we didn’t want to show the wedding dress and once we decided we didn’t want to show her pregnant, we were limited to the honeymoon,” said Condon, who has been tasked with chapter of the “Twilight Saga” in which heroine Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) marries her vampire boyfriend Edward (Robert Pattinson), has a baby and is turned into a vampire herself. “Then the question was do we want to show the sex, which would have been crazy and great, but I thought we should hold back on that.”

Among the footage shown, Condon and Co. selected a scene that’s not in the book, a clip Condon said he realized could be risky to show to these devoted fans who waited online for days outside the San Diego Convention Center to get a glimpse at the early footage of their favorite franchise. Even after the screening, he said he wasn’t sure how it played to the rabid fan base that has turned the franchise into a $1.8-billion enterprise, and demands that its beloved source material is not messed with too much.

“With Kristen [Stewart] next to me, we were so intent on capturing everything powerful in the book. But sometimes, if you respect what movies do and what novels do, you’ve got to sometimes go in a different direction,” said Condon, who is still editing the film.

The director’s  added scene features a showdown between the werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and his wolf pack, which he is leaving in order to watch over Bella and Edward. Condon’s other material featured a glimpse of the honeymoon in Brazil, focused specifically on Bella’s wedding-night jitters.

“It’s going to be interesting now,” Condon said. “I’m in that world now, and the best thing is also the worst thing. And the best thing is these fans care so much.”

They are butchering the book, from what they are saying. I am so disgusted. I am not going to see the first HALF anyway, because I refuse to pay twice to see a story that they could have made in one movie, if they were not so greedy. Has everyone forgotten INTERMISSIONS? I will watch the first movie on DVD just prior to seeing the second in a theater. I would be buying the DVD anyway, so they will not get any extra theater money from me.

The reason for making it into two is for the fans. Because don't you know you have to impress the fans to have a good movie. Besides they haven't done intermissions in years. Going to the movies only cost $6 so it's not like they are making you pay that much. It's worth it for the people that truly care to see the ending to this Saga.

Although I hate the yearlong wait, there is no way to cut this 800 page book into a 2 hour movie. Did you see the other movies? There were many small changes from book to screen…. necessary changes. Did you expect anything different here?
I am extremely excited to see Breaking Dawn, Part 1. Counting the weeks!

I've watched two trailers and all you think is that's not in the book, over and over. You know one of the reasons Harry Potter was so successful was because J.K Rowling maintained tight control of the entire process. On top of all that you have some lying going on. The trailer where they finally have sex shows a guy with ripped arms and back. Just from that shot you knew whoever it was has a great build. That was not Robert Pattinson. Look at the scenes from the honeymoon his arm aren't buff. I know the PR line is that it was him but Robert Pattinson has never had a buff body. In New Moon his stomach was a plastic sculpture made to look real. The actual cinematogaphy alone tells you how bad these two movies are going to be.
