DC is continuing to release its new 52 titles, and we’ve got early glimpses of two heroic books that will hit stands next week: Nightwing #1 and Captain Atom #1.
Dick Grayson, arguably the best Robin sidekick Batman ever had (Tim Drake fans, leave your comments) will be returning as Nightwing, and Captain Atom, who’s timestream escapades have muddled his history and sometimes left him as a forgotten hero, looks to be back to his powerful, military self.
Let us know what you think.

I think Dick Grayson must be tired of his on again off again role as a stand-in for Bruce Wayne's Batman. I like the character, but Nightwing has little reason to exist. Give him a power ring or something. We don't need another crime-fighting acrobat–back again for umpteenth time.
There is never enough heroes to watch over Gotham; Batman just isn't enough, so I can't wait to see what this series has around the corner.
Dick Grayson is without a doubt my favourite member of the Bat-Family. He went through the same ordeal as Bruce but he didn't let it turn him into a Grim and Dark Avenger. His evolution into Nightwing was a symbol of his growth, stepping out of Bruce's shadow to become more than a sidekick; an equal. The reason he periodically becomes Batman is because Gotham needs a Batman and Dick is the only one that has been able to where the mantle without becoming a psycho.
The thing that really sucks about this reboot is that they've swiped a chunk of Dick's mythology and given it to Tim. The Teen Titans. That was Grayson's achievement. I think Tim was alright but this whole rebooted mythos and the "Five Years" nonsense, I just don't agree with what they've decided to boot out of the DC Universe.
If all you see in Richard Grayson is "another crime-fighting acrobat–back for umpteenth time." then you are missing out on just who the character of Richard Grayson really is.
As for the wirter making the statement…"Dick Grayson, arguably the best Robin sidekick Batman ever had (Tim Drake fans, leave your comments)…" was this really needed? I think both Richard and Tim have room to grow and be their own person in the DCU. Richard is past the whole Robin stage and Tim is growing out of it as well (and both doing very well, thank you).
I recall "Captain Atom" as being a '60's Charlton comic, art by Steve Ditko. Do any other old-timers remember it?
I remember back in the early sixties when "Captain Atom" was a title put out by Charlton Comics with Steve Ditko art. Do any other old-timers remember it?
I love that the comment filter automatically assumes the worst of Grayson's first name despite the fact that it's been a shortened version of the name Richard for well over a century now.
Obviously, Carrie Kelly was the best Batman sidekick.
What I don't get is that, in this new continuity, Batman has been around for 5 or six years. In that time, he has had D Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim, and now Damian as Robin. So, what, does he get bored easily or something. ………"Robin, we need to talk. Its important you understand, its not you, it's me. I'm just…I'm in a bad place right now. And I…well, I am kind of seeing another sidekick."
Woohoo! Nightwing's back- and he has his escrima sticks! Thank you, DC!
