Wedding season is just around the corner, and Marvel is teasing the April union of two of its characters with a puzzle-piece-themed invitation.

Hero Complex is debuting a piece in the puzzle today. There will be six pieces total, and the characters who will be joined in matrimony will be identified Thursday.

Although the bride is beneath a veil, most of her gown can be seen, along with several famous guests, Captain America and Wolverine among them.

Marvel made big news last year when mutant superhero Northstar married his longtime partner, Kyle, in “Astonishing X-Men” No. 51. Beast officiated, and the happy couple kissed while floating in the air after exchanging “I do’s.” The day the issue was released, comic book shops nationwide, including L.A.’s Meltdown Comics, hosted commitment ceremonies, vow renewals or parties; and there was a legal same-sex wedding at Midtown Comics in Manhattan.

Northstar’s nuptials went well, but the April event may not be so happy: Note the apparent bloodstain on the invitation. When Marvel throws a wedding, things can get dangerous. Dr. Doom tried to ruin Reed and Sue Richards’ big day, and Rick Jones was lucky to have the Hulk as his best man when Mephisto came after his bride Marlo Chandler’s soul.

With Cap and Logan on hand, any uninvited supervillains will have a hard time trying to crash this one.

  1. Ghost says:

We've got Siryn, Domino, a bunch of Deadpool characters, and I'd bet that's Lady Deadpool with the the blond hair (the last bridesmaid). With that plus Wolverine and Cap, I'd say this is a Deadpool wedding.

  2. Mary J says:

    Deadpool and Hydra Bob!
