41. “X-Factor” No. 1 (2005)  Following a “Madrox” miniseries, Eisner Award-winning writer Peter David (“The Incredible Hulk,” “Star Trek” comics and novels) relaunches the title with a noir spin, following Jamie Madrox, formerly known as Multiple Man, and his X-Factor Investigations crew. David’s eight-year run ends today with No. 262 (don’t ask about the numbering). He also had a run on an “X-Factor” title in the 1990s. The series, which has featured a romantic relationship between male characters Rictor and Shatterstar won a GLAAD Media Award in 2011. (Ryan Sook / Marvel)
