A new featurette for Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” offers a closer look at newcomers Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

The video, which Marvel released Monday, showcases the formidable sister-and-brother team Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, portrayed on the big screen by Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and their superpowers and contrasting personalities.

“Quicksilver is very fast,” director Joss Whedon says in the video (watch it above). “As fast or almost as fast as a bullet.”

He’s also quick-tempered, Taylor-Johnson notes. Meanwhile, Scarlet Witch is “grounded and thoughtful,” Olsen explains.

As for her powers, they seem to diverge somewhat from her comic-book ability to alter reality.

“She’s got telekinesis, she can move things, and she can get inside your head so that all your worst fears or doubts come to the fore,” Whedon says in the video.

And judging from the featurette and the previously released trailers, she uses her abilities to shake up the Avengers team.

“What’s interesting to me is how connected she is and how grounded she is with the universe and how much power she has without realizing it,” Olsen says in the video. “She messes with all the Avengers to such an extent that they have to go somewhere and come back as a unit.”

In the upcoming “Age of Ultron,” the Marvel superheroes — including Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) — will face off against the eponymous villain, an artificial intelligence with a robotic body, portrayed by James Spader.

The film also introduces Vision (Paul Bettany), an evolved form of Tony Stark’s artificially intelligent butler, Jarvis.

Rumors abound that the film might feature cameos from stars of the upcoming Phase 3 Marvel films, including Black Panther, Doctor Strange, the Inhumans and Captain Marvel. Fans are also hoping that Spider-Man will make an appearance after Sony and Marvel Studios spun a deal that will introduce the webslinger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film is due in theaters May 1.
