Apparently you haven't watched Anne Hathaway in the movie Havoc — she can definitely be sexy. I will say though, she does not look like she belongs in this movie. She is the exact opposite of "Dark"; her personality is too bubbly and perky and cutesie.

Anne Hathaway as Cat woman or even Anorexic Old Jolie are a bad choice, even H. Berry was a bad choice. Cat Woman is supposed to be a beautiful woman with great curves. Hathaway would have been better off playing harley quinn but with camera help to make her body have some kind of shape.

Halle Berry played the best Cat Woman. Michelle Pfeifer is a competitive runner up. Those are hard shoes to fill Ms. Hathaway. Somehow, I can't get past the nerdy image of Hathaway in that Princess movie with the frizzy hair and glasses.

Halle Berry #1? Are you joking? Ertha Kitt and Julie Newmar were great (if not dated) versions of the feline felon, but ultimately Pfeifer gave us the best modern-day Catwoman. Cut out the camp, add a dark edge and sexy costume… now that's a Bat-villian!

Hathaway is a delcate beauty. Her playing Cat Woman makes as much sense as casting the late great Audrey Hepburn as Wonder Woman.

I don't see how you can integrate a character as flamboyant as Catwoman, especially played by someone like Anne Hathaway, into the dark, gritty, realistic Gotham Nolan has created. Frankly, I think it's just going to come off as silly.
But here's the thing: Take the sentence above and replace "Catwoman" with "The Joker" and replace "Anne Hathaway" with "Heath Ledger" and you've got the exact same thing I was saying a year before The Dark Knight hit theaters. And obviously I was dead wrong on that, so why shouldn't I be dead wrong on this? Chris Nolan is a very good storyteller, so there's now way that a single publicity photo is going to convince me that he's somehow inexplicably faltered.
The Dark Knight broke through all of our expectations about what a superhero movie could be. All the old wisdom about these types of movies ("the third one always sucks", "too many bad guys screws up the movie", etc) don't apply to this series.
My only real concern is this: No one playing a comic-book villain will ever turn in a performance as good as Heath Ledger's Joker, it's just not possible. No matter how good the TDK Rises is, will we be happy without a villain as finely crafted as Ledger's?

From a casting POV, they would have been better off with an unknown who is sexy and catlike. Hathaway is a pretty good actor but not great and not right for this role.

seems more like Bane is going to be the main big bad in the film with Catwoman being the lesser villain and like in the comics, potential ally for Batman towards the climax. Judging how someone is going to do in a role before you've seen any actual video is stupid. All you've got is a photo. Wait for trailers that actually have enough of Catwoman in them to get an idea of how she's doing in the role before you make judgements. Unless you just want to be one of the millions of anonymous internet trolls. If that's the case, please continue being retarded.

Wasn't Nolan quoted somewhere saying that he wasn't going to use any previously used villains in other Batman films? And now he's used three. I mean, you can forgive the Joker because he's THE JOKER, but there are other villains to be used. I still think the Mad Hatter would've been awesome in the modern setting, or if he hadn't blown off the Scarecrow as a simple drug dealer, that has potential as well (boy that pissed me off).

I agree with the "Joker Syndrome" comment. Even those of you who think she might not be right, with just one still picture, you HAVE to give Nolan the benefit of the doubt! Come on, he has not made one bad step in any of the previous films. He has insane/brillant vision and knows what he wants, knows what he needs to capture the character as he sees it. No one would have guessed that Heath Ledger had "it" in him. You all bitched about that as well. Just chill and get out your spoons, so that when Hathaway tears up the screen, Nolan proves his genius, you can all dig in and eat crap!

And I can think of several actresses I would have picked over Anne Hathaway.
I really wanted to see an emo version of catwoman. the actress sophia bush could have played her as an emo, raw vodka drinking prostitute/thief. she could have been one hell of a street thug and it could have been batmans job to get her to rise up and become a better person. in the comics i think her gran was sick so she robbed to raise money to pay for the hospital bills also she could be involved with the mafia like with carmine falcones crew and her side kick could be holly robinson. She could have been one crazy but sexy dark woman that needs to just find her way again therein giving batman a proper damsel in distress/love interest to get invloved with
