Oh, no. Not Catwoman AGAIN! This series of Batman films had been so promising. Until now.

    • Barbra-Lee Ricketts says:

They should have canned it after Heath's performance in TDK. Nothing is going to top that. Go out on a high not a slide !

  2. Jenns says:

Hahahaha! That's enough to put me off the film entirely!

  3. andanotherthing says:

Anyone else think Anne Hathaway is about as sexy as your third aunt?

    • LynnC says:

LMAO I agree, for me it's not even about her (lack of) looks, it's her personality… Not a fan

    • Mischief says:

      Is your third aunt single?

    • latino says:

Apparently you haven't watched Anne Hathaway in the movie Havoc — she can definitely be sexy. I will say though, she does not look like she belongs in this movie. She is the exact opposite of "Dark"; her personality is too bubbly and perky and cutesie.

  4. Jenns says:

Hahahaha! That's enough to put me off the film entirely!

    • JonG says:

I hope Nolan isn't suffering from the same illness that afflicted Sam Raimi for Spider Man 3. Guess we know why Tim Burton stopped after two.

  5. Teckla says:

Where is the mask and the cat ears? She looks like the Black Widow wearing sunglasses.

  6. jon says:

I am sure she will be fine. Sorry though that we missed any chance to see Angelina Jolie as the Cat.

    • Robert says:

Anne Hathaway as Cat woman or even Anorexic Old Jolie are a bad choice, even H. Berry was a bad choice. Cat Woman is supposed to be a beautiful woman with great curves. Hathaway would have been better off playing harley quinn but with camera help to make her body have some kind of shape.

  7. Jack Meoph says:

costume sucks…..the new one with the goggles is the bomb. That way we don’t have to look at her when she’s catwoman, we can make her anyone we want under the cowl…….like Milla Jovahottie or that girl clerking at the donut shop….mmmmmm

  8. X-Man says:

That's Catwoman? Seems like she belongs on the set of the Matrix instead.

  9. Meta-Mike says:

why would catwoman be riding a batpod? maybe she's actually supposed to be batgirl or something.

  10. scoot79 says:

Did she jack Batman's ride from the previous film?

  11. tadeu says:

why no faith? she´s a thief…yes, no the photo everybody is waiting for but given up just because a singlo picture?
so what about bane? will people close her eyes when catwoman be on the screen?
    oh boy…

  12. James says:

It's always the third film in a trilogy that sucks. Can anyone name a good third film in a trilogy ? (Godfather Part 3, Indiana Jones & the last crusade, and Spiderman 3 all received low reviews from critics)

  13. Tiffani says:

Halle Berry played the best Cat Woman. Michelle Pfeifer is a competitive runner up. Those are hard shoes to fill Ms. Hathaway. Somehow, I can't get past the nerdy image of Hathaway in that Princess movie with the frizzy hair and glasses.

  14. sergito says:

Hathaway is a delcate beauty. Her playing Cat Woman makes as much sense as casting the late great Audrey Hepburn as Wonder Woman.

  15. CaptainAnymo! says:

    In THIS ORDER!

    1 – Eartha Kitt

    2 – Julie Numar

    3 – Michelle Pfiefer

Thats IT. Period. Close the discussion, the third Nolan BM is going el suckorino.

  16. Max Haynes says:

    she's a great pick.

  17. naarm says:

    ew. inferior catwoman!

  18. Mark Kawakami says:

I don't see how you can integrate a character as flamboyant as Catwoman, especially played by someone like Anne Hathaway, into the dark, gritty, realistic Gotham Nolan has created. Frankly, I think it's just going to come off as silly.

But here's the thing: Take the sentence above and replace "Catwoman" with "The Joker" and replace "Anne Hathaway" with "Heath Ledger" and you've got the exact same thing I was saying a year before The Dark Knight hit theaters. And obviously I was dead wrong on that, so why shouldn't I be dead wrong on this? Chris Nolan is a very good storyteller, so there's now way that a single publicity photo is going to convince me that he's somehow inexplicably faltered.

The Dark Knight broke through all of our expectations about what a superhero movie could be. All the old wisdom about these types of movies ("the third one always sucks", "too many bad guys screws up the movie", etc) don't apply to this series.

My only real concern is this: No one playing a comic-book villain will ever turn in a performance as good as Heath Ledger's Joker, it's just not possible. No matter how good the TDK Rises is, will we be happy without a villain as finely crafted as Ledger's?

  19. Johnny says:

It's Flo from the GEICO commercials!

  20. Johnny says:

'Scuse me. Progressive is where Flo calls home. . .

  21. AAlex says:

Great Nolan! When all pepeols judge your ideas you gonna come out again with a blockbuster one of the greatest film of Batman. I loved it!

  22. Robert says:

Anne Hathaway in tight leathers, I'd pay £10 to see that!
And the 3rd film in franchise isn't always a bust, I suggest (with due respect) Karate Kid 3 a fine fine production

  23. BobMann says:

LOOKS LIKE EVERYONE HAS THE JOKER SYNDROME AGAIN!!

  24. lover says:

is she going to be a indoor cat or a out door cat?

that's how much i care about miss hathaway.

oh, and if it's anything like her oscar hosting—-well
you saw it——not so good—-poor little thing.

  25. guest says:

From a casting POV, they would have been better off with an unknown who is sexy and catlike. Hathaway is a pretty good actor but not great and not right for this role.

  26. Emma's Mom says:

This role was made for Emma Watson. Catwoman with a british accent.

  27. karsyne says:

seems more like Bane is going to be the main big bad in the film with Catwoman being the lesser villain and like in the comics, potential ally for Batman towards the climax. Judging how someone is going to do in a role before you've seen any actual video is stupid. All you've got is a photo. Wait for trailers that actually have enough of Catwoman in them to get an idea of how she's doing in the role before you make judgements. Unless you just want to be one of the millions of anonymous internet trolls. If that's the case, please continue being retarded.

  28. sina naijimi says:

    vaow!
    how is it? motor?

  29. penelope says:

i don't believe her as catwoman and anyways who is into these story's. Isn't there any original ideas out there. I'm sure there are if people would just take chances of going with the same bs.

  30. Maty says:

Anne Hathaway has ZERO appeal. What's wrong with Felicia Day (with a dye job)?

  31. Rachel says:

Wasn't Nolan quoted somewhere saying that he wasn't going to use any previously used villains in other Batman films? And now he's used three. I mean, you can forgive the Joker because he's THE JOKER, but there are other villains to be used. I still think the Mad Hatter would've been awesome in the modern setting, or if he hadn't blown off the Scarecrow as a simple drug dealer, that has potential as well (boy that pissed me off).

  32. Curd says:

    Bat girl?

  33. Reedman says:

Why is Catwoman riding Batman's motorcycle?

  34. lestro says:

it should be pointed out that this is "as selina kyle" not "as catwoman."

    perhaps that makes a difference…

  35. Darwin says:

I agree with the "Joker Syndrome" comment. Even those of you who think she might not be right, with just one still picture, you HAVE to give Nolan the benefit of the doubt! Come on, he has not made one bad step in any of the previous films. He has insane/brillant vision and knows what he wants, knows what he needs to capture the character as he sees it. No one would have guessed that Heath Ledger had "it" in him. You all bitched about that as well. Just chill and get out your spoons, so that when Hathaway tears up the screen, Nolan proves his genius, you can all dig in and eat crap!

  36. Garrett says:

    WHY, Chris, WHY????

  37. Jack says:

How can someone judge the film on photo!

  38. Jones says:

Julie Newmar is Catwoman- yesterday, today, and forever.

And I can think of several actresses I would have picked over Anne Hathaway.

  39. paul flynn says:

I really wanted to see an emo version of catwoman. the actress sophia bush could have played her as an emo, raw vodka drinking prostitute/thief. she could have been one hell of a street thug and it could have been batmans job to get her to rise up and become a better person. in the comics i think her gran was sick so she robbed to raise money to pay for the hospital bills also she could be involved with the mafia like with carmine falcones crew and her side kick could be holly robinson. She could have been one crazy but sexy dark woman that needs to just find her way again therein giving batman a proper damsel in distress/love interest to get invloved with

  40. Carina says:

Wtf were they thinking picking her.
