Another Marvel superhero is coming to the big screen. “Deadpool” is officially set to open in theaters on Feb. 12, 2016, after Fox shifted release dates for several productions, including “The Fantastic Four” and “Assassin’s Creed,” on Thursday.

“Green Lantern” star Ryan Reynolds, who played a version of the character in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” has long been expected to headline a Deadpool movie, but Fox did not immediately confirm who will take the role in the upcoming project.

Meanwhile, “The Fantastic Four” reboot, originally slated for a June release, now slides into the Aug. 7, 2015, spot previously held by “Assassin’s Creed.”

Directed by Josh Trank (“Chronicle”), “The Fantastic Four” stars “Divergent” actor Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic; “Chronicle” alumnus Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch; Kate Mara as Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman; and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm, the ever-lovin’ blue-eyed Thing.

Toby Kebbell (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “Wrath of the Titans”) is set to portray the villainous Victor von Doom. A 2017 sequel is already in the works.

As for “Assassin’s Creed,” a new release date has not yet been set, according to Fox.

  1. Concerned Fan says:

Let’s see, this fantastic four in name only has cast:

-An actor who looks 12 as a middle aged, graying scientist.

-An actress who looks 30 as his decade younger girlfriend.

-A scrawny wimp as a big tough guy from Brooklyn.

-Michael B. Jordan as the blonde, blue eyed brother of another Caucasian.

This is going to be garbage.

I hope you all know what you are doing. It looks like trash so far. They were Marvels 1st superhero group and they were never respected in the movies. Will that dissing continue? So far it looks like it . Soooo sad. I've been reading F.F. since it first came out. I'm 58 years old and sooo sad. Tell me please how wrong I am.

  3. MIke says:

The First Family of Marvel deserves more respect than this. It's like Hollywood thinks you must have teenagers in all roles. How could someone so young as Miles Teller pull off the gravitas needed for Reed Richards? And Kate Mara will seem a decade older. Why is it so hard to get this formula right?

Just saw the potential look for Dr. Doom http://www.comicmovieguru.com/. It looks awesome and I'm also think this a smart move on Fox's to move to August because Fantastic Four will make so much money just like Guardians did this august
