Peter Dinklage is making the leap from “Game of Thrones” to the new “X-Men” movie, “Days of Future Past.”
News of the casting came via a tweet by Bryan Singer, who will return to direct the newest installment of the sci-fi franchise that pits mutants against humanity:
Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!—

Dinklage joins a star-studded cast that includes a mix of actors from Singer’s first two “X-Men” movies and the Matthew Vaughn-directed prequel, “X-Men: First Class.” Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence and Patrick Stewart are already on board for the time-traveling adventure based on one of the most well-known storylines of the “Uncanny X-Men” comic books.
‘Game of Thrones’: Peter Dinklage sees series challenges ahead
It’s unclear what role Dinklage will play. While many have speculated that he could play the super-powered dwarf, Puck, that may be a stretch. While Puck, who is a member of the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight in the Marvel Universe, has had many adventures with the X-Men on the page and has appeared in the animated series, he’s technically not a mutant.
That said, there are a few other casting suggestions for Dinklage, who has won the Emmy and Golden Globe for playing Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” But the blogosphere also seems unanimous that casting Dinklage was a brilliant decision.
Just when you think the cast of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST couldn't get any finer… they add Peter Dinklage.—

Ooooh, Dinklage in Days of Future Past? Maybe he'll be one of Senator Kelly's men, or maybe the guy who creates the Sentinels! Gasp!—

What do you think about casting Dinklage? And do you think Singer will defy expectations and cast him in a role other than Puck?

he's perfect casting as Modok, you can do more with the Modok character than you can with the Puck character.
