Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) in "The Hunger Games." (Murray Close / Lionsgate)
“The Hunger Games” reaches theaters in 100 days, and the folks over at Lionsgate are circling the moment with an online scavenger hunt of sorts. The new poster for the film has been chopped up into 100 pieces, and we have one of them here. This is puzzle piece No. 40, and the rest are out there in the digital universe waiting for you to find — if this is the kind of thing that you have enough free time and enthusiasm to do. There’s certainly plenty of interest in the silver-screen adaptation of the sci-fi bookshelf bestseller, and we’re fans of the book and happy to play along.
To download our piece of the puzzle, follow this link: http://bit.ly/tM6VHB. To track down all the other pieces, take a look at Twitter and #HungerGames100. Fans are asked to download all of the pieces and then, when the first fan has posted the complete image on the “Hunger Games” official Facebook page, the poster will be released. If that sounds like too much work, check out our “Hunger Games” coverage below to get a beat on Katniss and a movie that will be among the most anticipated of 2012.
