Are owls the new penguins? Warner Bros hopes so as the new film “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” takes flight Sept. 24 with director Zack Snyder (“300,” “Watchmen“) and animation by Animal Logic, the same outfit that showed a flair for wings and water in “Happy Feet.”
Based on the book series by Kathyrn Lasky, the 3-D film features voice work by a cast that includes Hugo Weaving, Helen Mirren, Abbie Cornish and Sam Neill. I’ve seen the movie and it has some stunning visuals, especially in moments of flight and fire, and Snyder’s trademark moments of liquid mayhem and violent ballet add dark shadings to a tale that is geared toward youngsters but never treats them like babies.
We have a deep collection of exclusive images from the film, check them out…
