Leonard Nimoy’s farewell: ‘Live long and prosper my friends’

June 14, 2010 | 10:39 p.m.

We’re still basking in the glow of the Hero Complex Film Festival this weekend — we had sold-out crowds all three nights and amazing energy in the room with special guests Leonard Nimoy, Ridley Scott and Christopher Nolan. Nimoy’s Friday night appearance was especially warm and even bittersweet — the 79-year-old sci-fi icon has just announced his retirement from acting and he plans to devote most of his time to family, photography and art collecting. Here’s a bit of video to give you a sense of the evening. The conversation with Nimoy went well past an hour — I’ll be putting more video up later.
