Black Panther fans will have to wait a little longer to see the character star in his own solo movie.

Marvel’s newly announced partnership with Sony, which paves the way for Spider-Man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe before returning to Sony for his next solo outing, required some changes in Marvel’s previously announced release schedule.

To make way for the new Spider-Man solo film that is now set for release July 28, 2017, four other movies have been pushed back.

Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok” will arrive in theaters Nov. 3, 2017; “Black Panther,” starring Chadwick Boseman, will open July 6, 2018; “Captain Marvel” will follow on Nov. 2, 2018.

“Inhumans” will now land in theaters July 12, 2019.

The previously announced dates for Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2” on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019, respectively, remain unchanged.

Under the new Marvel/Sony pact, the next Spider-Man solo film will be co-produced by Marvel movie chief Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal, who recently segued from her executive post at Sony into a producing deal.

Marvel and Sony are exploring ways of possibly integrating characters from the MCU into future Spider-Man films.

Word of the deal between the companies arrived late Monday.

Sad, real sad for Black Panther. Fans of the comic book especially black Americans who have been waiting along time for a black Super Hero movie to be made. Never fails

  2. Sabas44 says:

The one they should have delay was Doctor Strange.

  3. John Pride says:

Black Panther in three years? Chadwick won't be able to play the role for long. And, for what? Yet another Spider-Man movie that nobody is asking for? This is beyond lame.
