A TV series spinning off from “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is in the works, Hero Complex has confirmed. Though details about the new show have yet to be revealed, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” series regulars Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are set to star. “S.H.I.E.L.D.” executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski are teaming up to helm the project. In “S.H.I.E.L.D.” Palicki portrays highly skilled agent Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, better known in the comics as Mockingbird. Nick Blood plays Bobbi’s ex-husband, Lance Hunter, a former British soldier and mercenary. The potential spinoff comes after Marvel’s critically praised limited series “Agent Carter,” which starred “Captain America: The First Avenger” actress Hayley Atwell as the eponymous Agent Peggy Carter, on a mission to save Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) from well-meaning but wrong-headed investigators at the Strategic Scientific Reserve (S.S.R.). – Noelene Clark | @NoeleneClark […]

Adrianne Palicki will be joining the cast of Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” The actress will play Bobbi Morse, also known as Mockingbird, on the ABC series, which returns for its second season Sept. 23. Palicki’s previous television credits include “Friday Night Lights,” “About a Boy” and “Lone Star”; she was cast as Wonder Woman in David E. Kelley’s television pilot about the iconic heroine, but the show was never picked up to series. Palicki is the latest addition to the growing list of actors slated to appear on the show, which centers on Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his roster of operatives — Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), Skye (Chloe Bennet) Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). Lucy Lawless, Reed Diamond, Nick Blood, Henry Simmons and Kyle MacLachlan will each play a role […]

Wonder Woman has those nifty bracelets that deflect bullets but, it turns out, they don’t work against fan attacks. A script overhaul and a costume redesign weren’t enough to save Diana Prince and her alter-ego from television limbo. NBC essentially left David E. Kelley and his “Wonder Woman” pilot standing at the altar of Athena, and “Friday Night Lights” actress Adrianne Palicki won’t get the chance to twirl the lasso of truth and bring the greatest female superhero of them all to 21st century airwaves. Now, all that’s left is to think of what might have been…and to enjoy the Twitter schadenfreude, which you can read in the gallery above. –Noelene Clark RECENT AND RELATED Kelley: ‘It’s way out of my comfort zone’ ‘Wonder Woman’ poll: Hall of Fame…or Halloween costume? ‘Wonder Woman’: Adrianne Palicki lassos role Wonder Woman pilot already deflecting bullets Beyonce sets her sights on “Wonder Woman” […]

This just in from Warner Bros… Adrianne Palicki (“Friday Night Lights,” “Red Dawn”) will star in the title role of “Wonder Woman,” a new series pilot from David E. Kelley (“Boston Legal,” “Ally McBeal,” NBC’s “Harry’s Law”). The series pilot is a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman – a.k.a. Diana Prince – is a vigilante crime fighter in Los Angeles but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life. Kelley and Bill D’Elia (“Boston Legal,” “The Practice”) are the executive producers. The pilot was written by Kelley and will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner (NBC’s “The Event”). “Wonder Woman” is from David E. Kelley Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Palicki, who appeared as Tyra Collette in NBC’s acclaimed “Friday Night Lights,” will star in the upcoming feature-film remake of […]
