Reginald Hudlin brings Black Panther to the screen: ‘This is destiny’ [updated]
There are legions of comic book film and TV projects that never make it out of development (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Gambit, etc.), but there’s one that Reginald Hudlin (director of “House Party,” “Ladies Man” and more) simply refused to see slip into limbo: Black Panther. Once slated to appear as a series on BET, where Hudlin was president until 2008, the animated series will now see the light of day in a new medium when it’s released on DVD on Jan. 18 in conjunction with Shout! Factory, and in association with Marvel Entertainment’s Marvel Knights imprint. John Romita Jr., one of the giant names in comics, is also attached to the project.
