BELFAST, Northern Ireland — It’s a winding two-lane road in the Northern Irish countryside that leads past grazing cattle to the open fields of Clandeboye Estate, a placid locale famed for its dairy products and its wedding receptions. “Game of Thrones” fans, here’s something fun for your Friday. HBO has released a new five-minute featurette titled “Long Story Short,” which explores how the massively popular and critically acclaimed political fantasy series, based on George R.R. Martin’s bestselling “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series, came to be. Narrated by Charles Dance, who plays the nefarious Tywin Lannister on the show, the featurette has a cheeky feel quite different from the grim and devastatingly serious show in which death lurks around every corner and characters are constantly scheming to betray one another in a quest for power and survival.
