A new poster has arrived for “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” the fourth franchise installment from blockbuster extremist Michael Bay, and it features Autobot leader Optimus Prime holding an enormous dagger. The heroic battle-bot looks ready to spar with any alien cyborg who gets out of line. “Age of Extinction,” which hits theaters June 27, will be a kind of reboot for the franchise, which has grossed $2.7 billion worldwide. Though Bay said in 2012 that “Age of Extinction” would be his last foray in the series, the upcoming Paramount vehicle is now viewed as the first entry in an intended new trilogy of “Transformers” films. The new trailer for “Transformers: Age of Extinction” has debuted with all the explosive action and imagery fans have come to expect from popcorn entertainment master Michael Bay — and audiences excited for the arrival of the Dinobots on the big screen won’t be disappointed. Written by Ehren Kruger and directed by Bay, the new film sees Mark Wahlberg, playing a mechanic named Cade Yeagar, join the series about warring tribes of alien robots with a propensity for causing massive destruction here on planet Earth.
