Marvel Experience: Tour dates revealed for live-action domed attraction

Spider-Man, Iron Man and the Hulk are hitting the road. Hero Ventures, the company behind the new live-action road show featuring favorite Marvel comics characters, revealed the first four stops on their “Marvel Experience: The World’s First Hyper-Reality Tour” at New York Comic-Con on Thursday. Designed with the aid of concept artist Aaron Sims, who worked on “The Incredible Hulk,” “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “X-Men: First Class,” the show covers more than two acres and encompasses seven colossal domes, a life-size Avengers Quinjet, the world’s only 360-degree, 3-D stereoscopic full-dome attraction and a state-of-the-art 4-D motion ride. Animation pioneer Jerry Rees to direct Marvel Experience

Animation pioneer Jerry Rees will lead the creative team developing the Marvel Experience, a theme-park attraction expected to tour the U.S. and Canada later this year. A film director and producer known for his animation work in “Tron” and his 1987 milestone short film “The Brave Little Toaster,” Rees has directed 16 Disney theme park attractions around the world in California, Hong Kong, Florida and Paris. Rick Licht, the CEO of Hero Ventures, the live entertainment company that partnered with Marvel to create the touring attraction, said in a news release issued Tuesday that “Jerry Rees brought a lifetime of creativity to the table and took the Marvel Experience to places well beyond our imagination.” The touring dome complex, which will span two acres and reach more than six stories high, will offer superhero fans a 4D motion-based ride featuring an […]

Marvel Experience first look: Touring attraction to feature ride, games

Marvel Entertainment has unveiled a first look at its upcoming touring theme park attraction, The Marvel Experience. The concept art (check it out above) reveals a maze of connected dome structures, designed to resemble a mobile command center for S.H.I.E.L.D., the Marvel Universe espionage and law enforcement agency, recently popular thanks to “The Avengers” and the TV series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” The touring dome complex, which will span two acres and reach more than six stories high, will offer superhero fans a 4D motion-based ride featuring an original adventure, exclusive 3D animated features, digitally projected animation, motion-comic book origin stories, holographic simulations and an array of interactive games. “Our guests will be interacting directly with multiple Marvel superheroes, as well as members of S.H.I.E.L.D., as they take their place in the Marvel Universe,” said Doug Schaer, COO of Hero Ventures, the live entertainment company […]
