“Phineas and Ferb” is getting into the Halloween spirit this weekend with a “Night of the Living Dead”-inspired special called “Night of the Living Pharmacists.” Among the star-studded cast are horror heavyweight George Romero and actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, reprising their characters from Edgar Wright’s beloved zombie sendup “Shaun of the Dead.” In this latest episode, Doofenshmirtz’s newest “-inator” machine accidentally turns the citizens of Danville into contagious Doof-zombies. Phineas, Ferb, Agent P and others must work together to save the city. In the exclusive clip above, reporter Don Adaded (voiced by Romero) falls victim to the Doofenshmirtz disease. The show has been on a roll with its special projects of late. “Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof provided the plot for “Phineas and Ferb: Lost in Danville,” which aired Monday. Earlier this year, creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” […]

To say that “Phineas & Ferb” creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh are fans of “Star Wars” is a bit of an understatement. “I was the first kid in line for the first showing of ‘Star Wars’ in Mobile, Ala. I watched it 19 times that summer, and more times since we were making this movie. I can’t count how many times I’ve actually seen it. But it’s pretty burned into my cerebrum,” says Povenmire. That fervor is what the duo brought to the Disney Channel movie “Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars,” which airs at 9 p.m. Saturday. (They’ll also be offering a sneak peek of it at Comic-Con at 10 a.m. Saturday.) The film takes place parallel to events that transpire in the original 1977 film “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope.” Alongside Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, […]

“Star Wars Rebels” isn’t Disney’s only upcoming animated adventure set in a galaxy far, far away. This July, the characters of the popular Disney Channel animated series “Phineas and Ferb” will be transported to the universe created by George Lucas in a one-off “Star Wars” special that runs parallel to the original 1977 film, “A New Hope.” Hero Complex readers can exclusively check out the poster for the one-hour special, which highlights Phineas, Ferb, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Candace and Agent P in their “Star Wars” incarnations. The poster reveal comes the day before the special,”Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars,” is unveiled for the first time at Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. In the special, Phineas and Ferb are hanging out during a lazy summer on Tatooine. They live on the farm […]

Spider-Man has teamed up with John Belushi and Stephen Colbert. Last year, Batman crossed paths with “Weird Al” Yankovic and Scooby-Doo. Superman once traded punches with Muhammad Ali while Eminem did a lock-and-load tale with the Punisher. Now another nutty collaboration is in the works: Spider-Man and the Avengers will join forces with Phineas and Ferb — yes it’s the first animated special to take Marvel Universe characters and mash them up with other Disney properties. Get used to it: Disney didn’t spend $9 billion on Marvel to leave the powerful brands alone on their own corporate island. Announced at Comic-Con, “Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel” will have Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor and Hulk drop into Danville but they’re not happy to be there — a scheme by Dr. Doofenshmirtz has robbed the mighty quartet of their powers. The marooned heroes will […]
