There doesn’t seem to be a more appropriate time to announce a “Voltron” live-action movie than Comic-Con 2011. The 1980s cult-classic television show still maintains a presence at the annual showcase of all things geek, even though the original series, based on two Japanese cartoons, only ran for two years on U.S. television. As such, Relativity Media, the studio behind the film adaptation, chose the event to alert the press to its plans.
