In Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman/Batman movie, Henry Cavill is reprising his “Man of Steel” role. But who will play the Dark Knight? The new Batman has yet to be cast. The film, which is still being written, is slated for a summer 2015 release, with production expected to begin next year. Snyder is directing as well as co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who co-wrote “The Dark Knight” trilogy with Jonathan and Christopher Nolan. “Whilst our ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack’s fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction,” Christopher Nolan said in a Warner Bros. news release. “His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe, and we can’t wait to see what Zack does with these characters.” FULL COVERAGE: “Man of Steel” With Nolan’s […]

So, Peter Dinklage, just what is the best part of starring on HBO’s lavish fantasy series “Game of Thrones”? “It’s amazing. I get to be on T-shirts,” the award-winning actor told a rapt Comic-Con International crowd as the show’s stars and creators took the stage Friday afternoon to reflect largely on the recently completed Season 3. And, yes, there was a great deal of talk about the infamous Red Wedding. (Those who are not caught up on their “Game of Thrones” might be advised to stop reading now; spoilers ahead.) Appearing on stage with Dinklage were Michelle Fairley, John Bradley, Kit Harington, Rose Leslie, Richard Madden, Emilia Clarke and author George R.R. Martin, on whose novels the show is based. Joining them were showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff. Richard Madden, whose character Robb Stark lost his life in the […]

Even before the third season of “Game of Thrones” debuted in March, D.B. Weiss, one of the showrunners of HBO’s lavish fantasy series, intimated that major characters would die. “I think we’re heading into the negative population growth phase of the show,” he said in an interview with Hero Complex. Sunday’s episode, written by Weiss and his creative partner David Benioff, delivered on that promise in a massive way — and anyone who missed the season’s penultimate installment, “The Rains of Castamere,” might want to stop reading right now. Major spoilers are ahead. One of the most memorable events from all of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels, the Red Wedding, unfolded on screen Sunday, claiming the lives of Robb Stark (Richard Madden), his pregnant wife Talisa (Oona Chaplin) and his mother Catelyn (Michelle Fairley), victims […]

Let’s hope that Richard Madden has an easier time wearing a crown in “Cinderella” than he does in “Game of Thrones.” Madden, who plays King in the North Robb Stark in the hit HBO series, has been cast as the glass slipper gal’s prince in Disney’s upcoming live-action “Cinderella” film, the studio announced Wednesday. “Cinderella,” slated for a 2014 release, is set to star “Downton Abbey” actress Lily James as the rags-to-riches heroine and Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine, her evil stepmother. Kenneth Branagh is directing, and the screenplay was penned by Aline Brosh McKenna (“The Devil Wears Prada”). Simon Kinberg, who was recently recruited to write a stand-alone “Star Wars” spinoff film, is a producer on “Cinderella.” Kinberg and McKenna (the two are friends) hatched the plan for a live-action update of the classic fairy tale.
