Comic-Con: Robert Kirkman celebrates 10 years of ‘The Walking Dead’

On TV, “The Walking Dead” is just ramping up, with the show’s fourth season set to debut this fall. But for fans of the comics, it’s been a long, tense decade. That’s right, “The Walking Dead” comic book turns 10 years old this October. To commemorate the date, “Walking Dead” mastermind Robert Kirkman hosted a Comic-Con panel Thursday to answer fan questions. And when fans weren’t flooding to the mics, they were teased and gently browbeaten by the man they were there to see. “Let’s just end this thing early,” he said more than once as fans rushed to the microphone to keep him talking. ‘Walking Dead’ and Weezer team up for anniversary bash in San Diego

Robert Kirkman’s acclaimed zombie comic series “The Walking Dead” turns 10 this year, and Weezer is helping to kick off the anniversary bash in San Diego this weekend. The Los Angeles alternative-rock band Weezer, featuring Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shriner, is signing autographs Friday afternoon at San Diego record store FeeLit, as well as offering fans exclusive Weezer/”The Walking Dead” mashup posters. Skybound, Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics, will release more details about the event on Friday at 7 a.m. The mashup posters, designed by artist Brian Ewing, feature zombie-fied depictions of the musicians. Exclusive: ‘Walking Dead’ to celebrate 10th anniversary at Comic-Con

Robert Kirkman’s acclaimed zombie comic series “The Walking Dead” is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Created by writer Kirkman and artist Tony Moore, the monthly comic about a ragtag group of zombie apocalypse survivors was first released by Image Comics in October 2003.
