‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1′ trailer features destruction, Lorde

A new trailer for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1″ reveals the ruins of a decimated District 12, the former home of heroine Katniss Everdeen. The one-minute teaser, released Thursday, features narration by Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) as they plot to recruit Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) to their resistance movement. “No one else can do this but her,” Hoffman intones. “She won’t be able to handle it,” Moore’s character responds. “The games destroyed her.” The games would be the Hunger Games — an annual televised battle to the death in the future country of Panem. Katniss twice survived the horrors of the arena (in the box office blockbusters “The Hunger Games” and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”) and suffers from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of her experiences. ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ trailer: Jennifer Lawrence in action star mode

Katniss Everdeen is ready to help lead the rebellion in the new trailer for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” the next installment in the blockbuster film franchise, which is set to arrive in theaters  Nov. 21. As Katniss, actress Jennifer Lawrence reluctantly finds herself the symbol of hope in the world of Panem, which is now in full on revolt against the autocratic Capitol. She’s forced to wrestle with her conflicted feelings while preparing to face off against the ruthless President Snow (Donald Sutherland). “I never wanted any of this,” Lawrence is heard saying at the start of the new clip. “I never wanted to be in the Games. ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay': Katniss Everdeen returns in new poster

Katniss Everdeen is back in the latest character poster for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” the next installment in the blockbuster film franchise, which is set to arrive in theaters  Nov. 21. The young heroine, played by actress Jennifer Lawrence, is actually pictured with her back to the camera, trademark braid trailing down her back, shoulders squared for a coming fight. The image is the latest in a series of new character posters spotlighting the “rebel warriors” featured in the film, the first of the two-part finale in the series. A series of new character posters spotlight the “rebel warriors” featured in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” the next installment in the blockbuster film franchise, which is set to arrive in theaters  Nov. 21. The posters feature Liam Hemsworth’s Gale, in addition to a host of new faces joining the series with the third movie, including Mahershala Ali as Boggs, Evan Ross as Messalla, Wes Chatham as Castor, Elden Henson as Pollux and “Game of Thrones” favorite Natalie Dormer as Cressida.
