The New York of noir fiction is known for dark alleys, shady subways and organized crime — the perfect gritty territory for Frank Castle, better known as the Punisher, Marvel Comics’ marine turned vigilante who prefers killing bad guys to turning them in. Marvel ended its parade of All-New Marvel Now title announcements Sunday afternoon during its “Superior Spider-Man” panel at New York Comic Con, revealing that 2014 will bring No. 1’s for a cosmic “Captain Marvel,” an independent-from-Daredevil “Elektra,” an L.A.-bound “The Punisher” and a reunited (and expanded) team of “New Warriors.” The first unveiling, though, dealt with the hour’s titular largely reformed-villain’s-consciousness-in-a-hero’s-body: The project from writer Dan Slott and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli that had been teased as “The End,” will be February’s “Superior Spider-Man” No. 27.NOW, in an arc called “Goblin Nation.” (Yes, before the end, later this year a new Green Goblin will arise.
