“Conan,” the late-night TBS series hosted by self-professed nerd and comic critic Conan O’Brien, will broadcast from San Diego’s Spreckels Theatre for the week of July 8-12, 2015.

According to a network announcement Monday, the shoot will mark the first time ever that a late-night show has broadcast from the conference-cum-party that typically draws some 130,000 visitors, many decked out in their finest cosplay duds. (Check out photos of costumed attendees from last year’s event in the gallery above.)

O’Brien does have a history with the San Diego confab. In 2011, he appeared at Comic-Con as The Flaming C, a superhero alter ego he created with acclaimed DC animator Bruce Timm. At the appearance, he joked about blowing $25 million on a trailer for a Flaming C movie yet to appear.

Other notable interactions with the Comic-Con world include O’Brien’s recurring “Clueless Gamer” bit in which Conan gives his opinions on the latest creations from the game world. Here he reviews “Injustice: Gods Among Us.”

He’s also interviewed plenty of bona fide stars of the comic world on his show over the years. Check out this vintage 1995 interview with “Spider-Man” co-creator Stan Lee.

“Conan” typically tapes from Stage 15 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank.

San Diego’s 2014 edition of Comic-Con is scheduled to take place from July 24-27.
