Jenna-Louise Coleman makes her debut as the Doctor’s new companion in this year’s “Doctor Who” Christmas special, “The Snowmen,” which premieres Dec. 25 on BBC America. And based on the first trailer released for the episode, it appears things will get slightly hot and heavy for the bow-tied Time Lord.
Coleman plays Clara, who will give the Doctor a run for his money, taking his hand to lead him into action (rather than vice versa) and even grabbing him for a quick kiss. It wouldn’t be the first time a companion has fallen for the Doctor, though it never ends well.
The annual “Doctor Who” Christmas episode has become quite a tradition for the series, with each successive episode grabbing bigger-name guest stars. This year’s episode also features Richard E. Grant, with Ian McKellen supplying the voice for the sinister Snowman.
Fans will also get a look at a newly designed interior for the TARDIS, the Doctor’s time and space traveling police box.

Here we go again. Can we have a female companion that the Doctor doesn't kiss? Just ONE? I'm not asking for a miracle, am I? Maybe there's something wrong with me in this instance, but I am occasionally capable of spending time with members of the opposite sex without kissing them. Why does the Doctor have to swap spit with EVERYONE? Give it a rest, for pity's sake.
Well he is a handsome time traveling alien with a blue box…in a way isn't it most women's fantasy to meet an incredibly smart man who knows exactly who he is and will take said woman anywhere she wants while saving the world in a very clever way all at the same time?
I don't believe he ever kissed Donna…
He did. It was in 'The Unicorn and the Wasp' but it wasn't a romantic one. As for a female companion the Doctor doesn't kiss, I'm not sure that's ever happened. It's a weird thing, but it rarely leads anywhere. And don't worry guys, he's married, so it probably won't mean much.
Just because we'd love to meet a man who'll take us on an adventure and knows who he is doesn't mean it's a given snogging him is something we'd like as well, and how about a companion like Donna Noble, who knows who she is and is intelligent? I *adored* Donna and consider her to be my favorite because she could stand on her own two feet, didn't take any garbage, and wasn't all googoo eyes over the Doctor. The show should be about the strength of the plot and the characters and the writing, not the sexytimes.
Poor kids never knowing the 1st 7 Doctors. You would have loved Leela.
