The new season of Jane Espenson and Brad Bell’s series “Husbands” will premiere Aug. 15, as part of the launch of CW Seed, the new online endeavor from the CW.
“Husbands,” which debuted in 2011, will be part of a slate of original scripted online comedies on CW Seed. The series stars Bell and Sean Hemeon as Cheeks and Brady, a same-sex couple who were married during a wild night in Las Vegas.
In the new run of six episodes, the guys are set to say their vows properly as part of a new ceremony when Brady’s ex-fiancee Claudia (Amy Acker) turns up with an agenda of her own, one that threatens to cast a dark cloud on the couple’s “rewedding” day.

In addition to Whedonverse favorite Acker, guest stars set to appear on “Husbands” this season include “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” vet Seth Green, Michael Hogan (“Battlestar Galactica”), Beth Grant (“Donnie Darko”) and Deb Theaker.
Last year, the show became the first online series to be the subject of a presentation at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.
This year, “Husbands” will host its premiere at the Paley Center on Aug. 14.
