Rosario Dawson joins Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ series
Hell’s Kitchen is getting populated one face at a time. The latest performer to join Netflix’s “Daredevil” series is Rosario Dawson.
Marvel announced the actress would be joining the cast of the 13-episode series on Friday.
According to Marvel, Dawson will be playing a “dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life.” No word on what her character’s name will be.
In a statement, “Daredevil” executive producer Jeph Loeb said, “Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock’s journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil.”
Charlie Cox was previously announced to play blind attorney Matt Murdock (a.k.a. Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio will play the main villain Wilson Fisk, “The Kingpin.”
The “Daredevil” series is expected to debut on Netflix in 2015 and will be the first of several planned Marvel series, which will include the characters Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, to be followed by a series teaming all of them called “The Defenders.”
“Spartacus” creator Steven S. DeKnight will serve as show runner on “Daredevil.” DeKnight, writer-director Drew Goddard and Loeb will serve as executive producers.
