In 2003, Christopher Reeve, who played Superman on the silver screen, made a landmark appearance on "Smallville" created a ratings sensation and a signature moment of inspiration for Tom Welling. "At the top of the list is the Dr. Swann character, when Christopher Reeve was on. Even beyond the show, that experience for me was phenomnal. He was an awesome person in every way. It was an honor to work with him.(Ken Regan/The WB)

LinkCall him Clark Kent or call him Superman, no actor has owned the role of the last son of Krypton longer than Tom Welling, who walks away (or, perhaps, flies off) from “Smallville” on Friday night with the two-hour series finale that has die-hard fans both in a tizzy and in tears. To mark the moment, above you will find a truly super-sized photo gallery in honor of the biggest man in Smallville.

Thanks for portray clark kent for the 10 years. You did an amazing job. Best of Luck in the near future. To me the series finale is pretty much the beginning of the birth of a hero and smallville chapter has ended.
The next Superman movie should of been Tom! Great pictures!
I am gonna miss this show.. Thank you for the wonderful 10 yrs… i am gonna finish up collecting the Smallville DVD.. I am almost done.. I know that I will be crying at the end of the show
for a DC fan like me, its been an honour watching you play the role of "clark kent"…i don't suppose anyone else could have played that role better than the way you did…it's sad however, that it all comes to end now…well, wish you all the best ahead and THANK YOU for the entertainment you presented us with!!!!
What the heck is he thinking?? I predict that this will only be a hiatus. Granted he is faced with a challenge that he must overcome of breaking out of a stereotype in his career, I am sure he will. I hope that he will come back home some day to this character that he has obviously owned so well.
Man! pay this guy 20million and get him on for the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie !!!!!!!!
Hoping there’d be an article about the SMALLVILLE FINALE.
I'm watching the last 15 minutes as I type.
Have had my emotions over the Pa and Clark Kent father and son moments.
And now we're onto Clark grabbing the suit. And cape.
As a comic book and graphic novel fan, movie fan and all around nerd and storyteller fan; this is the night a truly great American myth ends.
Everyone from Tom to Michael; the producers, cast and writers for over 10 years really and truly gave this series the bets they could. We’re talking about before SUPERMAN becomes SUPERMAN folks.
That’s not a hat trick anyone can pull off. And they did. And more than that.
They did it with a lot of love and respect for SUPERMAN.
I know there have been naysayers about this series, etc.
I don’t give a flying F.
There wouldn’t be SUPERMAN if it wasn’t for a little, Midwestern, All American town called SMALLVILLE.
Go on and fly Clark! You’ve earned it. Destiny and history await!
