Wonder Woman has those nifty bracelets that deflect bullets but, it turns out, they don’t work against fan attacks.  A script overhaul and a costume redesign weren’t enough to save Diana Prince and her alter-ego from television limbo. NBC essentially left David E. Kelley and his “Wonder Woman” pilot standing at the altar of Athena, and “Friday Night Lights” actress Adrianne Palicki  won’t get the chance to twirl the lasso of truth and bring the greatest female superhero of them all to 21st century airwaves. Now, all that’s left is to think of what might have been…and to enjoy the Twitter schadenfreude, which you can read in the gallery above.

    Dear Gail
Maybe it was the crappy costume and supposedly shaky script. How about you write one and leave the sexist crap out of it? Dear Dudes? Pretty sad coming from Wonder Woman's writer.

It's really silly to take things Gail TWEETS seriously. I don't know how many serious bones she has in her body, but they rarely show up on Twitter.

Gail Simone: If you had any hand in the ridiculous scenario of Princess Diana having three separate identities, one of which was head of a cosmetic company, then shame on you. It wasn't that "dudes" didn't want to "play with…[an] action figure," it was that fans wanted to see a better story. And your comment that a "not great" show could be improved belies your ignorance of how quickly networks axe shows that aren't getting good ratings. The show should have been and deserved to be a better show from the start.

Did Gail Simone have something to do with the writing of the Wonder Woman Pilot?

  4. robert says:

please some other network please bring it back. we want to see it

You got that right! I'm peeved off about this as well! I was hoping to see a new version of this show,
but no-o-o! They[the netowrk] want to jive around by cancelling this thing! And yea! Blame the bad
press and negative reviews for this!

  5. Roland says:

no Gail Simone had nothing to do with it. If she or Phil Jimenez would have written the pilot it would have flown. I also blame the "fans". Bad press and bad tweets killed this show and I 100% agree with Gail Simone on this one. A pilot can turn into a good series. but nothing cannot be improved upon. Gail wrote one of the best runs on Wonder Woman I have read. It was consistent and humorous with great artists. I think one of the Aaron Lopresti costumes would have worked better live action and I was happy with that cast bar Liz Hurley who wasn't to be a regular anyhow. Now we will probably never see a show

  6. Denouette says:

Gail Simone should spend less time on twitter and more time making her books – especially Birds Of Prey – less of a shonky mess.
