I just got confirmation that Peter Mayhew, the towering British actor who portrayed Chewbacca in the “Star Wars“ films, will be part of the program Wednesday night at the ArcLight Hollywood as Lucasfilm presents a digital screening of “The Empire Strikes Back“ followed by an on-stage Q&A with Harrison Ford.

Yes, that’s right, Chewbacca and Han Solo, together again.
I know this is giving you “Star Wars” faithful a bit of a heart flutter but there is a downside to it — I’m the guy who will go up on stage to interview Ford for the charity event, and this pretty much torpedoes my genius surprise plan to show up in a Wookiee costume.
The whole night is a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and part of Lucasfilm’s yearlong charity campaign called “The Empire Gives Back,” which marks the 30th anniversary of “Empire,” widely considered to be the very best of the “Star Wars” sequels.
The main theater – where Ford will be interviewed – is already sold out, but tickets are still available for a second ArcLight screen that will show the film and a closed-circuit view of the Q&A session with Ford.
Also, I can tell you that this second theater will get some special, um, star attention during the course of the evening …
For you Hero Complex readers who are already attending, be sure to take a good look around the room when you sit down. I know of three very prominent filmmakers who are attending, and, from what I hear, Mayhew won’t be only member of the “Star Wars” cast in the room for Ford’s rare reflection on his space-pirate days.

I can't wait. It should be a pretty great event.
I can't wait. What filmakers, Geoff? And also ask him about Indy 5. I know I am in the minority but I thought he was great in Crystal Skull and would love to see him as Indiana Jones again.
To bad the Arclight, and the cinerama dome are the worst theatres in hollywood. or else i would be willing to pay those prices to attend
Personaly i think they should move on with a episode 7-9 and run the sires where luke skywalker becomes the new darth vador.
and has to fight the clones of the darth sidius, as well as his own.
