The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is getting an upgrade.

Universal Orlando Resort has revealed new details for its planned expansion of its theme park experience based on J.K. Rowling’s saga — a re-creation of Diagon Alley, the famous shopping thoroughfare visited by Hogwarts students and their magical families before the beginning of every new school term.

Diagon Alley also will be home to a new ride, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, designed to take patrons through the vaults of the famous Goblin bank.

According to a release issued by the theme park Thursday, the new attraction will feature a number of shops and eateries from Rowling’s bestsellers about the boy wizard.

Visitors will be able to purchase wands at Ollivanders and Hogwarts uniforms at Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, while Quality Quidditch Supplies will offer an assortment of brooms, Golden Snitches, Bludgers and bats and other miscellaneous sporting equipment. Future members of Slytherin House can venture into Borgin and Burkes, the Knockturn Alley specialty store offering items of particular interest to the Death Eaters and those interested in the Dark Arts — masks, skulls, etc.

Patrons who work up an appetite can grab a bite at the Leaky Cauldron or Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour.

Although Rowling released her final book in the “Harry Potter” series in 2007, and the last feature film adaptation arrived in 2011, the saga has continued to fascinate fans on the page and on the screen. Last September, word came that Rowling and Warner Bros. were partnering to make more movies based on Rowling’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” — a 42-page textbook of sorts, published in 2001 after the fourth “Harry Potter” novel — and the adventures of its fictional author, Newt Scamander.

The movie’s Hufflepuff hero Newt is a magizoologist (one who studies magical creatures, of course). The first film in the announced series is to be penned by Rowling — marking her screenwriting debut.

MORE: Six ideas for more ‘Potter’ spinoffs

Universal initially launched the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade at its Islands of Adventure theme park in 2010, and there are plans currently to develop a similar attraction at the theme park’s Universal Studios Hollywood location.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley is set to open this summer.
