HBO’s new series based on the work of George R.R. Martin, “Game of Thrones,” debuts April 17, and to stoke excitement about the show, a food truck is making the rounds, stocked with racks of rabbit, heapings of head cheese and servings of squab fit for princesses and Night Watchmen alike.
TV chef Tom Colicchio made up the menu of delectable grub, trying to keep everything as authentic as he could by pulling from the realms of the book series. He gives a bit of explanation here:
On Thursday, chefs were serving up two dishes from the free city of Pentos, “where ragged children play in sight of palaces redolent with pinchfire and sweet onion” — or so the menu says. The prepared dishes for the day are spiced roasted duck with dates, buttered turnips, cabbage and juniper and lamb flatbread with chickpeas and purple olives; both are free and served with lemon cake. (The napkins say “Ours is fury,” the motto of the House of Baratheon. It’s clear nothing has gone overlooked.)
For those wishing to catch the truck tomorrow, we have it on good authority that it will be in a beach city! But to make sure you’re not randomly roaming the coast, follow the Twitter feed @gameofthrones.
HBO also aired a 15-minute preview of the show that we have for you here.

Game of Thrones bring to mind certain modern day political tactics in use today. For example: It seems like the Radical Right is using Glen Becks stupidity to distract and discredit certain truths…that the privately owned Federal Reserve IS in FACT run by power mad criminals who don’t give a damn about the Earth or her peoples…being Ayn Rand followers inspired by the perverse philosophy of Objectivism…why would they.
