‘Star Trek’ hits warp 6 in L.A. with a half-dozen midnight movies this summer

Wrath of Khan

For “Star Trek” fans, the Laemmle Royal Theatre in West L.A. is the place to Klingon to the past this summer.

The 600-seat theater will show the first six “Trek” feature films in Saturday midnight screenings — all of them in galaxy-class size, too, with 70 mm. prints.

June 12: “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” (1979), with an appearance by actress Arlene Martel, who portrayed T’Pring in the original-series episode “Amok Time.” (Pending professional commitments)

June 19: “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” (1982), with an appearance by director Nicholas Meyer.

June 26:Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.” (1984)

July 10:Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home” (1986), with an appearance by actress Catherine Hicks who portrayed Dr. Gillian Taylor.

July 17: “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier” (1989), with an an appearance by actor Walter Koenig (Lt. Pavel Chekov).

July 24:Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country” (1991) An appearance by actor George Takei (Lt. Commander Hikaru Sulu). (Pending professional commitments).

All Q&As will be moderated by Anthony Pascale of TrekMovie.com. It’s $10 general admission for each screening and $45 for a six-film ticket package.

    George Takei is scheduled to be there, "Pending professional commitments." Translation: George Takei will not be there.
