As a loyal Star Trek fan for most of my life (loyal only to the original, I might add), I thought the new movie was great. My only comment about it is that I thought Uhura was just too teeny-bop in relation to her peers. I realize she is 30 years old, but she acted too "high school" for the movie; constantly chasing after Spock. Also, who's idea was it to romantically involve her with Spock? First of all, the "real" Uhura would never be hanging all over another crew member, and secondly, the "real" Spock would never allow it. That entire concept was just too out of character for both of them and a little ridiculous. There should never be that level of unprofessionalism all over the ship. She was constantly running after him and jumping him – it was just silly. If there are sequels, please ditch this story line. Other than that, it was thorougly enjoyable. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, and best of luck to the new cast. They all seemed like they had a great time making the movie!
I am so excited to see this tonight. Going to see it here in NYC. The cast looks amazing and though I'm not a big Trek fan, I am sure I can catch on quick with this one. I also saw this amazing interview online where the guys really just seem to get along so well, plus they look really hot, lol. Enjoy the Trek eye candy!
Also check out this gallery too of the entire cast, past and present and more!! So good….
Ditto on nixing Uhura chasing after Spock. Basically ruined the whole movie for me.
The reason why Uhura and Spock have the hots for each other is because is because Tuvac (from Voyager) will be their son.
