A new “Doctor Who” Blu-ray set including all seven seasons of the rebooted series hits shelves Tuesday, featuring seasons 1 through 4 in high definition for the first time.

Those seasons, featuring ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston (“Thor: The Dark World”) and 10th Doctor David Tennant (“Broadchurch”), have been remastered at 1080p; later seasons, featuring 11th Doctor Matt Smith, were created in high definition.

Hero Complex readers get an exclusive first look at a clip from the collection’s 120 minutes of new bonus features.

In the video (watch it below), Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Steven Moffat and other “Doctor Who” notables offer a behind-the-scenes look at the “Doctor Who at the Proms.” The Blu-ray set includes the full 90-minute concert, hosted by Gillan (Amy Pond) and Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams) and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the history Royal Albert Hall in 2010. Smith also makes a surprise appearance.

In addition to the previously unreleased “Proms” footage, the 29-disc limited edition gift set includes a “Best of the Christmas Specials” featurette and the “Ultimate List of Lists,” in which notable fans rank the show’s top five companions, top five monsters and similar categories. The set also features hours of previously seen bonus features from prior home video releases.

The set also includes some Whovian goodies, like a sonic screwdriver universal remote control, three original art cards and a “Doctor Who” comic book. The set retails for $349.98.

The Blu-ray release arrives in time for the series’ 50th anniversary, making it the longest-running sci-fi show in TV history. BBC is marking the occasion with “The Day of the Doctor,” a highly anticipated feature-length anniversary special starring Smith, Tennant, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper and John Hurt. The special is slated to air Nov. 23. In an effort to avoid spoilers and plot leaks, BBC Worldwide is orchestrating a worldwide simulcast in 75 countries, including the U.S.

QUIZ: Test your smarts as the Doctor turns 50

The special marks Smith’s penultimate appearance as the Doctor after he announced earlier this year that he is leaving the show following the Christmas special. Scottish actor Peter Capaldi has been named as Smith’s successor.
