Zombie-lovers and “Walking Dead” fans were divided over a “Saturday Night Live” send-up of the cult hit AMC series.
Some felt the skit was absolutely hilarious and others slamming it as absolutely horrible.
The zombie parody dove into some dicey racial politics as the skit depicted “Walking Dead” characters crossing paths with Lyle, played by this week’s host, Kevin Hart.
MORE: The plight of the black zombie
The group fears allowing Lyle to join their ranks — he’s acting like a zombie, after all — but Lyle uses those fears to prey on white guilt.
What did you think? Did the skit go too far? Were you thrilled to see the comedy sketch show tackle “The Walking Dead” and zombies?
Or did you find it to be one of this week’s less-than-funny sketches. (That Z-shirt thing? Would have been much funnier at half the length. And that Steve Harvey send up? Yikes. That said, Hart gets credit for playing full-tilt.)
One thing everyone seemed to agree upon, though, was this:
Nasim Pedrad as The Walking Dead's Carl is pretty much perfect. #SNL http://t.co/VU6jFNg2BO—

SNL skits suck 90% of the time, and though Bill Hader is genuinely funny, this falls in the 90%. Not even Kevin Hart can save this.
This was ok, laughed a couple times. Thought the Xmas special was much better.
Eh… And I'm a big Walking Dead fan and old SNL fan. Kevin Hart did get some giggles (The 'swag' bit LOL) and "Rick's" facial expresssions were pretty goofy-funny too. The rest wasn't so hot – totally could have played up Daryl's character (Dixon bros are infamous) if you're doing racist jokes – but they seem to have missed that train…
Pretty funny, the actress playing Carl was spot on! Love Bill Hader!
Why didn't they pick up that poor guy running down the road? Then they wait till he's dead and take his back pack. Poor guy. Just ain't right. They need people to fight, they could of used him.
i said the same thing..
That guy was clearly an idiot. Screaming like a fool alerting every nearby zombie in the area. I don’t blame Rick for passing him by. Ain’t nobody got time for that! He’s not running a zombie apocalypse survival school.
As for this clip, only the swag bit got a chuckle from me. The rest was awful.
because you don;t pick up strangers hitchiking everyone know that
I thought it was funny and not just the racist part (although that pimp swag dance cracked me up). The spoof on "Carl" and the fact that "Maggie's" death was not a big deal were quite funny and true to show. As a fan of The Walking Dead you've now gotten so used to main and important characters getting killed.
bluck. poor effort. nice try kevin, but snl is just beyond saving at this point
With 3 black actors present, I think they could have made fun of only having one black guy around at a time.
Still, the Thriller dance got a chuckle out of me.
I thought it was stupid, made whites look stupid being pc and all….I was offended.
Nope. Like the players, SNL, and The Walking Dead… but this was D.O.A.
Wow … ridiculous! Still throwing around the "race" thing… dumb, dumb, dumb!
It didn't work because they bent too many "zombie rules". Zombies don't talk and people who turn don't start eating until they turn. It just didn't work. It would have been funnier if they riffed on how for a while the show only had one black character at a time and when a new one appeared, one died.
Yeah, the joke should have been that black males have a very low survival rate on TWD. The skit would have been funnier if they showed that they can never have more than one black male character on the show at a time. If a new one comes in, the old one must die.
Also: Am I the only one who was bothered by the fact that Maggie did not turn into a zombie after being bitten?
SNL thinks it’s funny and edgy by using the race card, but really it’s just worn out and old.
I’d have shot him on sight just like they left the hitchhiker.
Racist? Whatever. Dog eat dog.
For the most part this skit was an un-funny insult to comedy, comedians, black people, dead people, white people, gun nuts, nuts with guns, dumb people, smart people, Michael Jackson, racists, and zombies too. It's no bueno.
